100 years ago, white mobs destroyed Tulsa, Oklahoma’s Greenwood district, also known as Black Wall Street. Thousands of Black Americans lost their homes and many others were injured. LX News hosts Jobeth Devera, Nik Z and Ashley Holt break down the history and speak with a New York Times journalist who digitally reconstructed part of Black Wall Street.

Tiffany Crutcher is the twin sister of Terence Crutcher, who was fatally shot by a Tulsa, Oklahoma police officer in 2016. The officer was found not guilty after a jury trial. Since her brother’s death, Tiffany Crutcher has become a voice speaking out against police killings.

Tulsa, Okla., was the site of an infamous massacre of Black Americans in 1921. Greg Robinson II, a Democratic candidate for mayor in Tulsa, said President Trump’s upcoming rally in the city on Juneteenth is “a slap in the face.”
